  • When Was The Last Time You Saw A Dentist?
    2025/12/17

Healthwatch England, the patient watchdog, has been looking into how access to urgent dental care has been an increasing challenge for people. New government proposals will come into force in April that aim to help with access to dental emergency services, with dentists in England to be paid more to make sure patients have easier access to emergency appointments. Do you think this will help improve dental care?

First, Petrie speaks to Dentist and Co-Founder of the Toothfairy App, Dr Deepak Aulak, to get an inside opinion on how effective these changes could potentially be. Then she hears your dentistry stories when you get your chance to talk back and have your say.

  • Are You Prepared To Sacrifice Your Kids For Britain?
    2025/12/16

Air Chief Marshal, Sir Richard Knighton, has given a speech calling the "situation" across Europe more dangerous than he has ever seen in his long career and that he believes the whole nation needs to "step up." In a separate address, the new MI6 Chief, Blaise Metreweli, said that Britain is already on the front line against Russia and should be ready for Vladimir Putin's "export of chaos" to continue with the planting of disinformation, sabotage, and cyberattacks. But how do we step up and what does being ready actually mean?

Petrie first speaks to Military Analyst, Sean Bell, who lays out what he feels is being asked of the public. Mental Wellbeing Teacher and Psychotherapist, Dr Aditi Bhalla, then suggests ways to acknowledge and deal with the current climate and how to mentally prepare ourselves. Political Correspondent at The Sunday Times in Scotland, John Boothman, believes talking about things isn't enough and that we need to take action in some way. Finally, it's your turn to talk back and tell Petrie if you're prepared to sacrifice future generations for Britain.

  • What Are The Police Like Where You Live?
    2025/12/11

The Home Secretary is considering radical reforms that would drastically reduce the number of police forces to try and cut costs and increase efficiency. There are currently 43 territorial forces in England and Wales and, according to the Times, these could be reduced to just 12. Petrie wants to know what your local force is like and if you think things will get better or worse with with these reductions.

Crime, Justice and Policing Commentator, Danny Shaw, lays out what these changes would look like if they became a reality. Talk Broadcaster and Editor, Phil Dave, welcomes the changes as he feels that the current system that's in place isn't effective and something has to be done about it. Finally, Petrie talks to you to find out what policing is like where you live and hears about your experiences.
