Nell has been haunted her entire life by a ghost with a broken neck, a presence that follows her from Hill House into adulthood. Seeking relief, she turns to sleep paralysis treatment, where she meets Arthur, falls in love, and briefly finds something resembling peace. That fragile calm shatters when the Bent-Neck Lady returns with renewed certainty. Convinced that Hill House not the haunted nightmare of her past, Nell goes back, only to find that the house has been waiting. What Nell discovers there suggests that her ghost is far more intimate than she ever imagined.
