 On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jim Biringer(@JimBiringer) from Full Press Hockey to break down the Panthers 2-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche, bouncing back from a poor performance from the Winter Classic with a performance that was playoff-like against a contender in Colorado. The Avs were on the second end of a back-to-back as they played in Raleigh the night before, and were without Devon Toews and also lost Captain Gabriel Landeskog with an upper-body injury after colliding with the goal post in the second period, truly hurt the Avs as the game went on. Panthers were without Seth Jones after the injury he suffered in the outdoor game, and had a new look on their power play one, as now they'll have to deal with life without him. Neither of the goal goals that the Panthers had were assisted as the Panthers battles in the corners created both goals, from Sam Bennett stripping sam Malinski and Reinhart's effort on the forecheck broke Ekblad to a lane before firing a slapshot on the far side on Scott Wedgewood with a screen in front. Panthers ability to close the gaps and getting quick exits out of their end helped them keep up with the speed of Colorado as the Avs still controlled the pace of play. Matthew Tkachuk spoke to the media during the first intermission to discuss his road back to the lineup, will he return at all during the upcoming trip? Sam Bennett also spoke about being left off of Team Canada's Olympic roster, how much did his first 18 games hurt him? Lastly, the Panthers play 26 of their next 41 games away from Sunrise, could the Panthers find a way to grind out wins and make it into the dance?
