  • Episode 71: Your Most Important Resource-not Skills or Knowledge
    2025/12/18

Zechariah 4:6: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” Just in time, God promised the Israelites their city would be rebuilt. However, upon returning to their beloved city of Jerusalem after seventy years of captivity, the city was in ruins, and they faced the monumental task of rebuilding. Just as God told them not to depend on their own power and resources but His Spirit, we also can depend upon the resources of heaven through our obedience to the Spirit of God within us.

  • Episode 70: Are you Quarrelsome?
    2025/12/11

A word not used very often is quarrelsome, which means argumentative, difficult, irritable, confrontational, hot-tempered, contentious. If you are a person frequently described this way, you are an unhappy person.

God’s Word says in 2 Tim. 23-25: “But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition…” Remember, “The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Neh. 8:10).

Does your strength come from getting your own way or from the joy God gives you?

  • Episode 67: God, Country, and Veterans: Romans 8:14-17
    2025/11/18

This month, we honor and thank our veterans for their service, protecting our country–the USA. How brave they must have been to go to another country and face the unknown. As they were going into the heat of battle, did they ever cry out, “Abba, Father, Help me?” Romans 8:16 says, “The Spirit himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children.” As God’s children, His Spirit gives us peace and takes away our fear when we cry out to Him. Trust God every day!

  • Episode 66: The Ten Commandments and The Greatest Commandment
    2025/10/30

God gave Ten Commandments in Exodus chapter 20 for the people to follow, providing direction and protection through the journey of life. The first few commandments indicate our responsibilities toward God, and the remainder have to do with our responsibilities toward others. In Luke 10:27, Jesus summarized them with the Greatest Commandment: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

  • Episode 65: Do You Remember What You Learned in Kindergarten?
    2025/10/28

I (Trish) saw this on a framed poster: “All I ever needed to know, I learned in Kindergarten,” written by Robert Fulghum. I decided to read it on the podcast because what we learn as a child, is what we do as an adult. One attribute that stands out in this reading is “The Golden Rule,” which is found in the Bible (Matthew 7:12), the teaching from Jesus: “Do to others what you would have them do to you.” Following this rule brings peace to our relationships and our world

  • Episode 64: The Key to Prosperity
    2025/10/09

What is the key to prosperity? “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33). King Hezekiah (a king of Judah) lived during dangerous times, and yet he chose to worship the one true God while idolatry was the popular religion of the day. God prospers those who seek to please Him, rather than seek the approval of people: 2 Chronicles 31:21.
