概要
We’re back! Like we could stay away…
Today, with a special bonus episode (we did promise do this from time to time), Liz walks through downtown Philly with none other than Zaretta Hammond, a self-described ‘boots on the ground’ teacher and best-selling author of Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain. To Liz, she’s a mentor, personal advocate, and thought partner.
Zaretta speaks passionately and honestly about a wide range of topics, but today we focus on the idea of shared schema and how without that, education is often disconnected from learning, which has led to overloads, out of whack expectations, and a serious mental health crisis among students.
So join us on this return to the pavement. We’ll certainly be back for more. In the meantime, check out Zaretta’s books, blogs, and more, at crtandthebrain.com.
Thanks everyone. Keep walking.
