How much energy are you spending trying to look okay?
In this episode of Pilot Light, Josh talks about the difference between image and identity — and why so many people feel exhausted from trying to manage how they are seen. We work hard to appear dependable, strong, successful, and put together. But somewhere along the way, it is easy to confuse what we do with who we are.
Image asks, “What do people think about me?”
Identity asks, “What does God know to be true about me?”
This conversation is for anyone who has ever felt the pressure to keep everyone happy, make a good impression, hide the cracks, or protect a version of themselves they are not sure they can keep carrying.
Josh explores why image needs an audience, why identity grows in private, and why Jesus never lived from approval but from the truth of who His Father said He was.
This week’s challenge: practice one act of hidden integrity. Do something good that nobody will ever know you did — not for applause, but because that is who you are becoming.
Because image may impress people for a moment, but identity impacts people for a lifetime.
See farther. Live deeper. Become who you were created to be.
