Stay in the Light is a suicide prevention and awareness podcast presented by the American Foundation for the Suicide Prevention Greater Philadelphia Chapter. This podcast was created because talking is the first step to preventing suicide. We’ll be speaking with suicide attempt survivors, grief survivors, mental health professionals, educators, advocates, and volunteers, as we aim to reduce stigma, normalize help-seeking behavior, and build a stronger, more connected community. We might worry that saying the wrong thing will make it worse. So, we end up not saying anything – even though a few kind words can make the difference in connecting someone to help or supporting someone who experienced a suicide loss. It's time we shed a light on this leading cause of death. It's time we talk away the dark. 🎧 What to expect: - Interviews with survivors, clinicians, and advocates - Stories of healing, resilience, and support after loss - Actionable resources and mental health education - Event coverage and ways to get involved with AFSP Philly - A safe space for navigating taboo topics with compassion Whether you’ve lost someone, struggled yourself, or want to better support those who have, this podcast offers a place to feel seen, heard, and never alone. 🔔 Content Warning: This podcast contains discussions of suicide and mental health. Please listen with care. 📞 If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available.
