King Nebuchadnezer erects a golden statue and orders all officials to bow. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, Jewish exiles and officials, refuse to worship the idol, citing loyalty to their God. Furious, the king throws them into a blazing furnace heated seven times hotter. Miracoulously, a fourth figure-described as a divine presence-appears with them in the fire; they emerged unharmed, not even smelling of smoke. Nebuchadnezzer praises their god, and punishes those who accused them. The episode highlights faithfulness under persecuton, divine rescue, and the courage to resist idolatory.
