  • Inter’s Scudetto, Man Utd secure top four, Arsenal firing, UWCL semi finals and more!
    2026/05/04

It was a blur of a weekend, with seismic results all over Europe!

Musa and Ryan begin with Barcelona and Lyonnes getting past Bayern and Arsenal to make it to the UWCL final in Oslo (03:09), moving onto Inter securing their 21st Scudetto (11:37), Venezia making it back to Serie A and more, before heading to the Premier League.

Manchester United secured Champions League football for next season (28:31), following their 3-2 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford, so there’s chat about that as well as Liverpool’s situation. Spurs made it two wins in two to get out of the relegation zone after their win at Villa Park and Bournemouth are one of Europe’s most in form teams.

Meanwhile, at the top, Arsenal had some key players back and looked sharper than they have in months to beat Fulham 3-0 and go six points clear (50:18) and there’s a lot of praise for Myles Lewis-Skelly’s performance, starting in midfield for the first time.

Finally, there’s some Bundesliga chat (56:33), as St. Pauli dropped into the relegation spots and Schalke won promotion back to the top flight.

  • The season’s third act begins
    2026/04/27

Musa said this weekend felt like it featured three match days in one, and he wasn’t wrong.

He and Ryan do a bit of a whirlwind trip through Europe, where there were dramatic promotions, FA Cup semi finals (07:31), UWCL semi final first legs (12:16), more high stakes Premier League games at the top and bottom of the table (15:56), plus big results elsewhere too.

After all that, they take a little look ahead to this week’s men’s Champions League semi final first legs (38:35), in what is set to be another huge week for Bayern, PSG, Atleti and Arsenal.

Don’t forget to check out kickbacksoccer.com and tickets for our July live show, with Nish Kumar at the Southbank Centre, are available here.

  • The big Man City and Arsenal talk
    2026/04/20

Ryan desperately wanted to do three hours on the Copa del Rey final, which he was at, so there will be a Patreon show on Wednesday all about Real Sociedad’s first trophy in front of fans since 1987.

However, Manchester City beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad on Sunday, so he and Musa focus their attention there for much of today’s show. There’s chat about what was a wonderful game, where both sides could feel lucky and unlucky on certain refereeing decisions, as well as lucky and unlucky on how certain chances fell.

There were obvious positives for Manchester City, who closed the gap to three points and who can go top if they beat Burnley this week. But, despite the understandable disappointment, there were many positives to take for Arsenal, who will be frustrated about not stealing a point at the end.

After that, there’s some round-ups and shout outs for the rest of the Premier League, plus Bayern winning the Bundesliga and more!

  • Marie-Louise Eta makes history (again) and the Premier League title race heats up
    2026/04/13

Musa and Ryan begin with Union Berlin appointing Marie-Louise Eta as interim head coach of their men’s team until the end of the season (02:46).

Eta becomes the first woman to take charge of a men’s team in Europe’s top five leagues, but is no stranger to the Union dugout, having already been a trailblazer for many years already. So, they chat about why the appointment makes so much sense and how it could pave the way for other clubs to do the same in the future.

They then move onto the Premier League title race (15:05), after a weekend where Manchester City closed the gap on Arsenal, following the Gunners’ home defeat to Bournemouth and City’s win away at Chelsea. And not to say Ryan’s taking it badly, but he did volunteer to go to the moon and has talked about starting a golf podcast.

Down the other end of the table, it got worse for Spurs, as they slipped into the relegation zone on Friday night, thanks to West Ham’s impressive win over Wolves, and stayed their following their own defeat to Sunderland.

  • What do Tottenham Hotspur do now?
    2026/03/30

Spurs and Igor Tudor parted ways this weekend, by mutual consent, so Musa and Ryan discuss the position the club now finds itself in. With the threat of relegation now very real for Spurs, while also being set to hire their third manager of the season, they chat about what they do next and whether this is fixable in the short term.

There’s also a quick round-up of some weekend results, where Union Berlin secured a place in next season’s Frauen Bundesliga, while Manchester City and Arsenal won their derbies in the WSL, the NWSL attendance record was broken on the first time of asking in Denver and more.
