It seems that the gospel has been stopped at Rome. However these last few verses indicate that through trial and triumph, the gospel goes out. Day 42 - Acts 28:30 - without hindrance the gospel goes out.

Even now before me in chains, you try to convince me of Jesus! the Gospel gives us immense boldness and humility. We see Paul go after Agrippa to convince him of the Messiah.

Paul defends himself and is accused.

The offence of the gospel. The gospel is always offensive. For us today it is offensive to suggest we sin, we are in need of God. For Paul, it was offensive to suggest we are all loved. This was offensive. Today we have an overdeveloped sense of the goodness of human nature, they had an underdeveloped sense of Human goodness. The gospel is offensive it says we are more selfish and depraved than we would ever dare admit and loved more than we ever dare hope.

Paul is accused and defends himself.
