  • Creation Care Formation Focus // Clark Buys // Delight, Belonging and Listening
    2026/06/28

In the second talk of our Creation Care series, Clark explores how caring for creation is not only a duty or responsibility, but part of becoming people whose loves are reshaped by God. Building on last week’s call to be earthkeepers, this talk reflects on three movements of creaturely discipleship: delighting in the goodness of creation, rediscovering our belonging within the community of creation, and learning to listen to and through God’s world. Creation care becomes more than a task list when we learn to notice, love, and attend to the world God has made.

  • Creation Care Formation Focus // Clark Buys// Earthkeeping as essential discipleship
    2026/06/21

This week we begin our new Formation Focus series on Creation Care. In this opening talk, Clark explores what it means to see creation care as part of our apprenticeship to Jesus.

Beginning with Romans 8 and the image of creation groaning, we consider the ecological crises facing our world and ask how Christian faith has shaped, and sometimes distorted, our relationship with creation.

Looking at Genesis 1 and 2, Clark reflects on humanity’s calling not to dominate the earth, but to serve and keep God’s good world. Through the Hebrew words abad and shamar, we recover the biblical vocation of earthkeeping: living as servants and guardians of creation, bearing witness to the God who loves this world and is making all things new.
