It was believed that due to its history as a prison during the Civil War as well as a shootout between police and a bootlegger may have been the reason why it was incredibly haunted. From a headless woman to strange, unsettling sounds, Barrow Hill was believed to be one of the most haunted places in Nashville before the city grew and built over it.
