Since I’m still pretty much a newbie in town, this was my first visit to the museum, and I was rewarded with a private audio tour. 48:49 A remote section of Bates Beach has long been considered OK for nudity, even though technically it’s still illegal. Local activist Gary Summers provides the historical backdrop, and updates us on the effort to remove the last existing legal barriers to making it an official clothing-optional beach.
