概要

The Slow Bible (with Mary Spencer) is an invitation for us to sit back and spend time praying with the Word of God, to soak in the Scriptures and in the presence of God. It is a precious break from the busyness of life. It’s a form of an ancient contemplative practice: Lectio Divina. These Latin words just mean “divine reading” - always brought with stillness, with contemplation, with repetition, and with a slow reading, creating space for the Holy Spirit to speak; Read, Reflect, Respond, Rest© 2026 Slow Bible キリスト教 スピリチュアリティ 聖職・福音主義

    Isaiah 2:3-4 (from the archive)

    New Living Translation

3 People from many nations will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of Jacob’s God.
There he will teach us his ways,
and we will walk in his paths.”
    For the Lord’s teaching will go out from Zion;
his word will go out from Jerusalem.

4 The Lord will mediate between nations
    and will settle international disputes.
They will hammer their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will no longer fight against nation,
    nor train for war anymore.

    James 3:2-6

    New Living Translation

2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.

3 We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. 4 And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. 5 In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches.

But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. 6 And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire.

    2 Corinthians 3:16-18

    New Living Translation

16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
