It's Friday. Annie is spent, Brady seems sharp. Johnny is on the board. We've got some fresh buzz for ya: openings, closings, further details on what a Runza is (but who cares anymore). And it wouldn't be SideDish if we didn't mention rail, Winchell's and cars driving into buildings.

Thanks to Andy Eppler and David Cutter Music for our intro and outro music.

Many thanks to Johnny Schober for his help with production at SideDish!

We've got road signs that say BOOB, a rain dance, bike to work day, discussions of beige brick, and lots more to support the accusation that Longmont is aggressively average. We also have a guest! But he's heavy on the listening side. Join us to find out more.

***QUICK PROMO: Come see us at a live podcast recoding at LMP on May 31 at 7 pm*****

What can we say, we absolutely smoked this episode. Come find out why David Barton, Longmont resident and founder of the BBQ accessory business, DripEZ, agrees that the thermometer is a very important tool (and Brady thinks Meater is clever copy), how he paid off his kids' college tuition and why he is amazed Longmont shuts down a US highway four times per year.

Better late than never, right? It's so long ago we can't remember what we discussed, but there was a lengthy sidebar about socks. Unmissable, really.

Everything you want to know and very little you need to know, as promised.

Oh and May 31, we will be hosting "An Evening with SideDish" together with Longmont Public Media to kick off their member drive week. Come see at LPM at 7 pm - music, comedy and other great entertainment.

Thanks to Andy Eppler and David Cutter Music for our intro and outro music.

It's a downer, upper kind of episode. We dont' leave out a Winchell's mention and Brady starts craving fried food. Quick and dirty from the basement.

Thanks to Andy Eppler and David Cutter Music for our intro and outro music.

  • Longmont Locals: Nikki Hughes/David Gunsallus (& Korben, too) of SandΨ’s Coffee and Tea
    2025/03/20

So there’s a new coffee place up on Mountain View near Hover, Sandy’s (SandΨ’s). Some people call it “cute” or “vibey,” others call it “magical,” or “witchy.” (OK, those last two descriptions came from the owners, David and Nikki). After talking with them, I’d use the words “thoughtfully eclectic.” Listen to the show, and check the place out. Then, write to tell us your words for the place.

In addition to SandΨ’s, they also talk about renovating a duplex, owning part of a canning operation, and raising a son… all at the same time.

    PS: ALERT: WINCHELL’S NEWS
