- At about 5:30 AM on May 10 the Ardent Fix broached and capsized to starboard; Janet activated her EPIRB at 6:22 AM.
- The EPIRB signal reached satellites and triggered a search, but coordinators drew a search box based on her filed route that was approximately 60 miles north of her actual position.
- A white foam cake base marked in red with coordinates and the words "Day six. South. JLP." washed up at Gulfport beach access at 6:15 AM on May 19.
