Darlene Lekowski is a survivor, speaker, advocate, and business leader who transformed her decades of pain into hope and healing—for herself and others. After fifty years of silence about the sibling sexual trauma and abuse (SSTA) she endured as a child, she found the courage to speak her truth, winning the civil lawsuit brought against her by her own brother. Her debut memoir (pub date April 2026), Shattering Silence: A Story of Survival, Justice and the Power of Telling the Truth, chronicles her journey through trauma, resilience, and healing, and the courage it takes to let go in order to live forward. With raw honesty, she reveals not only what she endured and how it affected her, but also the strength it took to rise above it.

Beyond her advocacy, Darlene has built a distinguished career in banking and sales, where her leadership and integrity now guide her work supporting fellow survivors. She speaks publicly about her journey and partners with organizations worldwide, including 5WAVES, Thriving Survivors, Blue Borage, SSTA Aware, AILA, and A Brave Step, to raise awareness and give voice to all survivors.

She lives in the Charlotte, NC, suburbs with her husband, Tom, and their dog, Pepper, and is the proud mother of three adult children.
