Shalen Fox is an member of Sweetgrass First Nation. He became reliant on drugs and alcohol at a young age to deal with his emotions. Shalen finally found light and is in active recovery since July 5th, 2016. by trying to mask his pain by numbing with addiction, Shalen is working on his communication skills as he used to deflect with humour always, just to avoid uncomfortable conversations.
Now Shalen is bringing awareness of men’s mental health, addressing Indigenous stereotypes and looking to help those who are suffering in silence. We are all trying to figure out this maze we call life.
