    "Do I associate with sinners like Pharisees or Jesus?"

    Bro. Scott Vaughn

    Mark 2:1-17

    1. Pharisees avoided sinners. - Jesus sought out sinners.
    2. Sinners avoided Pharisees.  -   sinners sought out Jesus.
    3. Pharisees made their reputation by avoiding sinners. - Jesus made His rep by associating with sinners.
    4. Pharisees said; "Become good, and we might accept you!" Jesus said: "Come as you are, and I will help you to become good."
    5. Pharisees keeping God's law was more important than sinners. Jesus believed keeping God's law was best done by seeking out sinners.
    6. Pharisees might welcome sinners who confessed to sin. Jesus welcomed sinners into confession and forgiveness!
