We have all heard some version of the story of two wolves battling within us, with the winner being the one we feed. But is that how our identity in Christ works?

In this episode of Seed in the Closet, we challenge the idea that believers have two competing identities—one spiritual and one fleshly. Through Scripture, we explore what it means to be made new in Christ, receiving a new heart, a new spirit, and God's Spirit within us.

We examine the distinction between salvation and sanctification—receiving our new identity through faith and living it out through daily surrender, obedience, and the renewing of our minds.

Through a personal encounter at a grocery store, we see what faith in action looks like when we choose God's will over our own.

We are not two separate selves fighting for control. We are one complete person in Christ—saved and being sanctified.

Love Without Direction

What does love look like when it is not simply felt, but lived?

In this episode of Seed in the Closet, Macretia Moody continues the conversation on love, direction, identity, and the fruit of the Spirit. God gives us direction, but direction itself is not the fruit. Our calling is not to constantly correct the people around us, but to allow the Holy Spirit to express the life of Christ through us.

When we know who we are in Christ, we no longer have to fight to prove our identity or make others recognize it. We can respond from the abundance of what God has already produced in us—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Sometimes what God reveals about another person is not an invitation to correct them. It may be an invitation to pray for them, cover them, love them, and model what a transformed life looks like.

We cannot change someone else’s heart. We cannot manufacture their fruit. But we can live in such a way that the life of Christ within us becomes visible.

Because transformation does not come through condemnation.

It comes by the Spirit.

And when we get out of the Holy Spirit’s way, we discover that our lives can become the direction—without us ever having to force it.

Walk by faith, not by feelings.

What if the fruit of the Spirit is not simply a list of qualities God wants us to develop—but a revelation of who God is?

In this episode of Seed in the Closet, Macretia Moody continues exploring Galatians 5:22–23 through the lens of our inheritance in Christ. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are more than attributes we associate with God. They are expressions that flow from Him because they reveal who He is—the great I AM.

God is our love.
God is our joy.
God is our peace.
God is our patience.
God is our kindness.
God is our faithfulness.
God is our gentleness.
God is our self-control.

And through Jesus Christ, God has given us Himself.

So the question becomes: If God has given us His very life through Christ, what does it look like to actually live from that inheritance?

What happens when our desire to guide, correct, or help others is not rooted in love?

In this episode of Seed in the Closet, Macretia Moody begins a deeper look at Galatians 5:22–23 and the fruit of the Spirit. Rather than seeing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control as qualities we must manufacture, we explore what it means for these to be produced in us by the Holy Spirit.

When direction comes from our own strength, it can feel like punishment or condemnation. But when we yield to the Spirit, love flows differently. We are freed from the burden of correcting others and invited instead to see them, love them where they are, and allow the Holy Spirit to do the work only He can do.

And that leaves us with a question: Is the fruit of the Spirit summed up in love?

It’s possible to love God’s Word… and still have places where it hasn’t taken root.

Life does what life will do.
Seasons change. People come and go. Circumstances shift.

What does it really mean when we say inheritance?

In this episode of Seed in the Closet, we go beyond the idea that inheritance is only about heaven and uncover the spiritual inheritance believers already possess in Christ.

Rooted in Isaiah 11:1–3, we explore the prophetic promise of the Spirit resting on Jesus—and how, through Him, that same Spirit now lives in us. Drawing connections between Isaiah’s prophecy, Jesus’ words in John 3:35 and John 16:15, and the reminder of God’s provision in Matthew 17:24–27, we discover this truth:

What the Father has belongs to the Son—and what belongs to the Son has been declared to us.

Knowledge.
Reverence for God.
