In this sermon, Pastor Tim Miller explores Joshua 21 and the cities given to the Levites.
Though they had no land inheritance, God faithfully provided for them, scattering them throughout Israel to be a sanctifying presence. We see how God took Levi's broken past and redeemed it for His glory.
Today, the Church is scattered in the world with a far greater ministry, serving as royal priests and trusting in the unfailing promises of our great High Priest, Jesus Christ.
Key Points
- God's grace operates through the most unpromising vessels.
- In Christ, we have been scattered for a far greater and more glorious ministry than that of the Levites.
- God is worthy of our trust and praise because every word of every promise He makes comes to pass.
Reflect & Discuss
- How does knowing that God uses broken vessels encourage you in your own struggles with sin, driving you back to Christ's finished work?
- In what ways has God sovereignly scattered you into your community, and how are you responding to the call to be salt and light?
