Episode 2 - Sanctification is the necessary middle between sharing the Good News and Social Justice. Often times in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church we like to focus on one or the other, because focusing on sanctification is where the conflict often occurs over the interpretation of scripture. The interpretation of scripture in relation to what our lives should look like in relationship with God, and in relationship with each other. It is where discussions of morality, ethics, and the Will of God usually occur. So, often we are asked to focus on the ends and avoid the middle. Problem is, we avoid the middle at our own peril as a church and denomination. The middle is where disciples are made.
