    About our guests:

    Emeritus Professor Carolyn Geczy is an experienced immunologist and Member of the Order of Australia. She inspired us with tales about her years of experience working as a leading woman in Science.

    Sian Liddy is a shark biologist who has recently completed her PhD. Sian gave us an insight into the world of sharks and their microbiome.

Have you ever wondered if there is a way to manage bacteria without using harmful chemicals? Anne and the students talk about different types of microbes and discuss ways to kill bad bacteria using plasma technology.

We ask him about his journey from student to doctor and the benefits and challenges of his work. He shares some great advice for any students listeners who may want to follow a similar path. We also discuss his fascinating research into cancer treatment and ask the difficult question... "how close are we to a cure?"

    As we prepare to farewell our Year 12s, this episode (our very first episode - recorded during the height of the COVID19 pandemic) features a few of our finest. Join Easton, Jack and Conor (with a brief cameo from Robbie) as they chat with ecologist Zoe Xirocostas about threats faced by native plant species all over the world.

    You'll learn how we can protect our native plant species, how native plants can become pests in foreign locations and you might even pick up a bit of knowledge to help you talk your way out of your chores.

    This will be our last episode for this term, but join us back here in Term 4 for a full season. We will be releasing a new episode every fortnight.
