BIBLE STUDY| MIRACLES OF JESUS SERIES.|THE FIFTH MIRACLE OF JESUS pt.17| THE POWER OF RETREAT|JESUS WALKING ON WATER| CHIMDI OHAHUNA Focus: Jesus’ Intercessory Work for Saints (Romans 8:34) In this powerful seventeenth session, we explore the heart of Christ’s ongoing ministry for His Church, His intercessory work for the saints. Romans 8:34 reminds us that “Christ Jesus… is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” This episode highlights how Jesus stands as both Savior and Judge, ensuring that His finished work secures our justification and silences the accusations of the enemy. Key Highlights: - Grounds of Intercession: Jesus intercedes to counter condemnation, affirming that the devil can accuse but cannot condemn. Only the Judge has the authority to pass sentence. - Who is the Condemner? From the Greek katakrinō, condemnation means to judge worthy of punishment. Yet, Jesus alone is the Judge of the living and the dead (Romans 2:16; 14:10). - Correction vs. Condemnation: Saints are called to lovingly correct one another, not to judge. Correction is by choice, never by force (2 Timothy 4:1). - The Fair Hearing of Humanity: Through His death and resurrection, Jesus gave mankind a fair hearing. John 3:16 reveals that His sacrifice is the balance of justice for all. - No Condemnation in Christ: Romans 8:1 and Romans 5:1 assure us that those who accept His finished work are at peace with God and cannot be condemned by Christ. - Consequences vs. Condemnation: While sin has consequences, believers are not condemned for sins already judged at the Cross. - Jesus as Savior and Judge: He cannot contradict His own work. He saves and sustains, not condemns those He has redeemed. - Intercession in Action: Jesus continually pleads our cause before the Father, establishing our justification (1 John 2; Hebrews 7:25). His intercession is not only through prayer but also through His blood. - Living in Consciousness of His Advocacy: Our eternal salvation rests on Christ’s finished work and His ongoing advocacy. This is not a license to sin but a call to love God more deeply and walk in the light (1 John 1:6–7). Key Notes: - Jesus’ intercession secures believers against condemnation. - The devil accuses, but only Christ judges. - Salvation in Christ is both fair and final, anchored in His death and resurrection. - Intercession is continuous, ensuring peace with God and fellowship with other believers. - Christ’s advocacy inspires us to live faithfully, knowing He is working overtime to secure us in His salvation.
