    Press Release After the successful organisation of the peace march against the rising violence in the state by Sikkim Progressive Youth Forum(SPYF), SKM has been trying to vilifying SPYF through press releases and press statements. Here we would like to reply to their allegations. 1. RISING POLITICAL VIOLENCE IS A FACT Ever since the speech of the chief minister of the state on the foundation day of the ruling SKM party, the state has been exponential rise in the political violence. The zero arrests of any one of those involved in the violence show under whose haste such incidences are taking place. People specially those not in the good book in the ruling have been targeted. Some were attacked in their own home. Some were attacked when they were going for the morning walk. The offices of opposition parties were vandalised and stone pelted. 2. MEMBERS OF SPYF TOO WERE ATTACKED Not just the members of the opposition parties, even the members of SPYF were also attacked on 5th February at Melli South Sikkim on day broad light. Almost all the office bearers of the organisation have been harassed through several court cases filed in the behest of the ruling party. Moreover, to speak against violence it is not necessary that we ourselves must be a victim. Such organised attack from the party in power is a dangerous sign for the society as a whole. It is a duty of every individual to stand against such attacks. 3. FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION MUST NOT BE CURTAILED In a democratic set up, everyone has the right to express freely. Simply because the party in power does not like any kind of dissent they cannot go on attacking people who are unwilling to cowed by them. 4. FEAR PSYCHOSIS BEING USED AS A WEAPON BY THE RULING PARTY In the villages, those who do not host the flag of the ruling party in their house are being seen as an enemy by the ruling party. Such families are being deprived of any governmental welfare schemes. Members of such families, if in government services, are being victimised through transfer to places as far as Delhi, Kolkata etc. If a family does not send at least one member of the family to party functions they are being penalised in one way or the other by the ruling party. Such atmosphere of psychological terror is being devised by the party in power. 5. SPYF AND POLITICS First the very day of foundation of the organisation on 26th January 2017, SPYF has been clear that we are apolitical only in the sense that SPYF is not for electoral politics. Everything and anything under the sky in the society today is directly or indirectly linked with the politics. No one can be aloof from politics no matter how one tries. If someone belief he is aloof from politics, he is only a fool. Right from the price of basic commodities, to education, health, employment opportunities, road, even environment everything is associated with politics. What SPYF has been doing is also a politics. What differentiate our politics from the rest is that our politics is not driven by the desire to rule people and all our actions in the past have been in the interest of the common people of Sikkim. 6. SPYF AND POLITICAL PARTIES SPYF has never been against any party in particular. We have joined hand with any party or organisation which shares common interest with us. In 2019, when SDF was enjoying its 25th year of power, we had done several movements in the demand of standard public health services in Government hospitals. Then the SKM supporters including its leaders were in our support. In fact almost all the opposition then had joined our movement. This is not the first time that the political parties support were in support of SPYF. 7.     "बम और पिस्तोलसे क्रान्ति नहिँ आति, इंकलाब की तलवार विचारों की सान पर तेज होती है" २३ मार्च सम्पुर्ण देशप्रेमी, शोषण र दमनको खिलाफमा विश्वभरी संघर्ष गरिरहेका संग्रामीहरूका निम्ति एक महत्त्वपूर्ण दिन हो। आज भन्दा लगभग ९२ वर्ष अघि २३, मार्च १९३१ को दिन गैर समझौतावादि धाराका महान क्रान्तिकारी भगत सिंह, राजगुरु,र सुख्देवलाई त्यस समयको निरङ्कुश साम्राज्यवादी अङ्ग्रेज सरकारले फासीमा झुन्डाएको थियो। जब भगत सिंह, राजगुरु, र सुखदेवलई फासीमा झुन्डाइयो त्यस समय उनिहरूको उमेर २३, र २४ वर्षका थिए। हामी आफैलाई प्रश्न गरौं के हामी २३, र २४ वर्षको उमेरमा समाजप्रति त्यति चिन्तित छौं? के आज, हामी हाम्रो समाजमा भईरहेको अन्याय र अत्यचारलाई प्रतिरोध गर्न शिर खडा गरेर आवज उठाउन सकि रहेका छौं? यो प्रश्नको उत्तर हामी आफैले राम्रो सोचेर खोज्न जरुरी छ। भगत सिहंको जन्म २८ सेप्टेम्बर १९०७ मा लोय्लपुर जिल्लाको बङ्गा गाउँमा भएको थियो। बङ्गा अहिले पाकिस्तानमा पर्छ। भगत सिंहको आमाको नाम विद्यावति र बाबुको नाम किसान सिंह हो। जुनदिन भगत सिंहको जन्म भएको थियो त्यसै दिन करतार सिंह र किसान सिंह जेलबाट छुटेर घर आएका थिए। भगत सिंहको परिवार एक क्रान्तिकारी परिवार थियो, जसले भारत देशलाई अंग्रेजको शाषणबाट मुक्त गराउन आफनो ज्यान दिन सम्मपछि सरेका थिएनन्। उनका परिवार त्यस समयको क्रान्तिकारी गाधार पार्टीसंग जोडिएका थिए। उनका हजुरबुबा स्वामी दयानन्द सरस्वतीको अनुयायी थिए। यी सब भौतिक स्थितिले भगत सिंहको जिवनमा ठुलो प्रभाव पारेको थियो। भगत सिंह कर्तार सिंह साराबाबाट धेरै प्रेरित र प्रभावित भएका थिए। १९१९ को अमृतसरमा भएको जलिवाला बाघ हत्याकाणडले भगत सिंहलाई सारै दुखि बनाएको थियो। घट्ना भएको भोलिपल्ट भगत सिंह आफ्नो स्कुललाई त्यागेर घटना स्थलमा पुगेका थिए। त्यहाँ हजारौं निदोर्श मानिसहरूको लास देखेर त्यो खुनले लतपतिएको माटोलाई आफ्नो मुठ्ठीमा लिएर निर्दोष मानिसहरूको हत्याको बदला लिने ढृड संकलप समेत गरेका थिए। १९२१ मा गान्धीजि, लाला लाजपत राई आदिको नेतृत्वमा अङ्ग्रेजी हुकुमतको खिलाफमा असयोग आन्दोलन सुरु भएको थियो। त्यस समयमा भगत सिंह माध्यमिक शिक्षा हाँसिल गरिरहेका थिए। गान्धीजिले सम्पुर्ण ...

    मजदुरहरूको जीवन- न्युनतम ज्याला र सरकारको घोषणा! दैनिक रूपमा, मजदूर साथीहरूले न्युनतम ज्याला कहिले बढ्छ? की बढ्दैन? घऱ चलाउन साह्रो पर्छ, सरकारले बढाउँदैन हाम्रो पैसा? सरकारले ढाँटेछ, अब त आश पनि लाग्न छोढ्यो, आन्दोलन नै गर्नुपर्छ होला अब त, के हुँदैछ १५,००० को? के हुँदै छ पि.डब्लु.डिको पैसा पाउँदैन, आदी भनेर संगठनमा सोधि रहनु हुन्छ, मेसेजहरू मार्फत प्रश्न पठाई रहनु हुन्छ। तर, सरकारले घोषणा गरेको, नोटिफिकेसन निकालेको वर्षौं पुग्न लाग्दा सम्म न्युनतम ज्याला बढेको छैन्। अहिले गान्तोकमा जी. २० समिट भइरहेकोछ। विभिन्न देशहरूबाट प्रतिनीधिहरू आएर मानिसहरूको भविष्य बारे चर्चा गरिरहँदा सिक्किममा मजदूर वर्गले मर्यादित न्युनतम ज्याला सम्म पाएका छैनन्। सरकार र जनसाधारणलाई एक पटक पुन: स्मरण गराउँदा, सिक्किम प्रोग्रेसिभ युथ फोरम र मजदूर वर्गले लामो संघर्ष बाद १ मई,२०२२मा मजदूर दिवस मनाएको थियो, सरकारले मजदूरहरूलाई रोक्न खोज्दा पनि मजदूर वर्गको राम्रो सहभागीता थियो । सरकारले त्यसैदिन न्युनतम ज्याला बढाएर १५ हजार बनाउने घोषणा गरेको थियो। निरन्तर संघर्ष बाद ११ जुलाईमा नोटिफिकेसन निकालियो तर, न्युनतम ज्याला बढाईएन। यो नोटिफिकेसन पछि पनि न्युनतम ज्याला नदिएपछि संगठन र मजदूर समुहले न्युनतम ज्याला बढाउनै पर्छ भनर आवज उठाउँदा संगठनका साथीहरूलाई १३ सितम्बरमा नाम्ची थानामा थुनवाई गरेको थियो। समग्र मजदूर वर्ग संगठित बनेर लढेपछि १४ सितम्बरमा ज्याला बढाउने नोटिफिकेसन त आयो तर कार्यन्वान गरिएन। घोषणा मात्र भएता पनि सरकारलाई मानिसहरूले धन्यवाद माथी धन्यवाद पनि दिएकै हो । सितम्बरदेखि आजसम्म सरकारी क्षेत्रमा काम गर्ने समग्र मजदूर वर्गले न्युनतम ज्याला पाएका छैनन्। पि.डब्लु.डी, होम गार्ड, अस्थायी शिक्षक-शिक्षिका गण, अस्थायी कर्मचारी गण, वान फेमेलि वान जब, आगानवाडीमा काम गर्ने मजदूर वर्ग, साथै तमाम सरकारी क्षेत्रमा काम गर्ने मजदूर वर्गको न्युनतम ज्याला बढेको छैन्। नीजि क्षेत्रहरू जस्तै एन.एच.आई. डी. सि.एल, पेट्रोल पम्पमा काम गर्ने मजदूर वर्ग, एन.एच.पि.सि आदी क्षेत्रमा काम गर्ने मजदूर वर्गको पनि न्युनतम ज्याला बढेको छैन्। सरकारी क्षेत्रमा ज्याला बढाउनुको सट्टा सरकार नीजि क्षेत्रमा काम ...

    Considering the turbulence in our state, we are in need of a government that is dedicated to bring unity amongst the scattered sects of the society. However, not all governments have this vision and the current government seems to have lost sight of what it truly means to be a "krantikari" government. Instead of spending it's resources into better healthcare , education and infrastructure, our "Krantikari" government seems to be more focused on pelting stones at the opposition. Well, who needs progress and development when we can have government sponsored street fights? It seems more important for the government to have street fights. However, one must appreciate the government's award winning acting towards pretending to take care of people while neglecting the promises made in their manifesto. While it is the people who put the government in power, the govt in order to protect that power has forsaken the stability and peace and as a result it makes our state extremely vulnerable to violence against any form of dissent and opposition. It is a matter of shame that the meaning of "kranti" seems to have been lost in this government. Instead of wasting resources it's high time for the government to focus on improving the state's condition.
