Don’t get me wrong… paying Principal & Interest is NOT bad.
But context matters.
Right now my nasty, non-deductible owner-occupied debt is already tamed down to about $100k.
So guess what my next target is??
My Investment debt.
That’s called prioritising your rabbits.
First rabbit:
Smash the NON-deductible debt (the tax-unfriendly one).
Second rabbit:
Work the deductible debt strategically as you move toward retirement.
Because here’s the thing…
You can’t chase two rabbits at the same time.
You’ll end up catching neither.
So no — I’m not anti-P&I.
I’m anti-doing things in the wrong order.
