    ----

Separation is not something we should ever celebrate. It should not be casually normalized. It is not empowerment, and it should never be decided by the noise or opinions of others.

Because no matter how convenient it may seem for someone to walk away—no matter how easily one may start a new life or even another family—separation is still the breaking of a promise two people once made with love, hope, and faith.

It is the loss of a home that was meant to hold a family together.
It is children left trying to understand why the life they knew suddenly changed.
It is a wife who once guarded that home with everything she had, now watching the place that was once her safest ground slowly fall apart.

“I’m only human” is the weakest excuse one can offer.
Being human does not absolve us from responsibility. The people who stood by us—especially the family who chose us even at our lowest—deserve to be fought for.

A decent woman does not walk away from a marriage lightly. She never dreams of moving from one man’s bedroom to another. When she finally leaves, it is not freedom she feels first.

    It is grief.

Because when a woman decides it is time to go, she walks away carrying the heaviest heart of all.

  • Dear Separation, How Did You Happen? With HARLENE BAUTISTA
    2026/03/12

For our pilot episode of Scar to Star, Mari Zhar sits down with Harlene Bautista to talk about the painful reality of separation — not as something to celebrate, but as the breaking of a promise two people once made with love, hope, and faith.

When a marriage ends, it is not just a relationship that changes. Home dynamics even, children are left trying to understand what happened, and a woman who once protected that family may find herself facing the loss of everything she built.

This conversation explores three important truths: the role of accountability in a marriage, the difficult but powerful journey of rediscovering yourself after separation, and why the love you once gave should never be something you regret.

Because while blame and anger are easy, growth asks a deeper question: What have we learned, and where do we go from here?

Sometimes beyond the pain, something better still waits — a healthier love, a calmer life, and the chance to move forward as a wiser version of yourself.

VODCast will also be available next week.
