What helps women actually move into leadership roles? Is mentorship enough—or is something else missing? In this episode, I’m joined by fellow colleague, Justine Lee, a lecturer and researcher in industrial and organizational psychology, to discuss our research on sponsorship.
Justine Lee's Bio:
Justine Lee is a PhD Candidate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology where she focuses on researching role conflict and how companies can support working mothers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a master’s degree in Learning Experience Design for Adult Learners.
Before teaching full-time, Justine spent six years working in Human Resources, where she specialized in employee experience, learning and development, and organizational culture. During that time, she designed a regional and nationally award-winning leadership development program, delivered more than 200 hours of executive, leadership, and employee coaching, and founded the first Working Parents Conference to better support caregivers in the workplace.
Justine is currently a Lecturer in Organizational Leadership at Utah Valley University, where she teaches courses in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. She also established the Lee Professional Development Fund, a scholarship initiative dedicated to supporting students’ professional growth and career advancement. Outside of work, Justine enjoys traveling the world with her partner, spending time with their two wiener dogs, reading high fantasy novels, working out, dancing, and watching hockey.
