Robin and Kate have a chat with Damian Hall after the Barkley Marathons 2026; a year that caught everyone by surprise when it was held a month earlier than usual. We talk to Damian about how he’s progressed and learned over the years he’s attended the event and whether he thinks in it’s current form it’s achievable.

We also talk about Damian’s new book, Run Forever, available today to pre-order from Vertebrate Publishing and his forthcoming tour around Britain.

Thanks for tuning in! If you enjoyed this episode, please follow the podcast and leave a quick rating or review; it really helps other runners find the show.

We are fortunate to be supported by Core Body Temperature Sensors, who offer sensors to allow athletes to monitor their heat training and improve performance. You can read Nick Hancock’s in depth review on both the Core and Core 2 sensors.

Thanks also for Swiss Canyon Trail’s support who have recently joined us. This exciting race has a distance for everyone and prides itself on being accessible to all. Learn more about this stunning event in the Swiss Jura here

    2026/02/20

In this episode, I’m joined by Debbie Martin-Consani and Siobhan Brennan and together we delve into a subject that goes far beyond ultra racing; the menopause.

We talk openly about the causes, the symptoms, the impact on training and recovery and we tackle the practical realities: HRT, supplements, sleep, nutrition and how to navigate performance when your body is changing. It’s an honest, grounded discussion about what it really looks like to keep showing up regardless of age and ability.

And we finish with a message that applies whether you’re chasing podiums or simply trying to stay consistent through a tough season: be steady, be patient and above all, be kind to yourself.

Thanks for tuning in! If you enjoyed this episode, don’t forget to follow the podcast and leave a quick rating or review; it really helps other runners find the show.

On the latest episode of the RunUltra Podcast, Robin flies solo and catches up with Megan Boxall, who, as of today’s podcast date of 13th February, is on Day 119 of an extraordinary challenge: 200 marathons in 200 consecutive days. Having started on 21 October 2025 at Sizewell Beach in Suffolk, Megan is running 5,240 miles around the entire coastline of Britain in a clockwise loop, keeping the sea on her left and navigating several ferry crossings along the way. If she stays on schedule to finish back at Sizewell Beach on 9 May, she will become the fastest woman to run the coastline of Britain and in this episode she shares with Robin what life is really like deep into the challenge.
