From the mystical mountain range of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand JPH explains how her ayurvedic health journey began here, the birthplace of Ayurveda. It is in the Charaka Samhita, one of the two first written texts written about indian medicine, that it states Ayurveda came from the Lower Himalayas or Doon Valley where this episode is filmed. JPH speaks with Ayurvedic doctors, two alternative medicine professionals both from traditional ayurvedic families. Specialised in dietetics and nutrition, Dr Poornima Sankar is a lifestyle consultant focused in recommending practical diets based on each individual’s ethnicity, socio-cultural and job requirements. She graduated in Ayurveda from V.P.S.V. Ayurveda College, Kottakkal and has a Masters in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from CDC, Govt. Medical College Trivandrum. From a traditional Ayurveda physicians family Dr. Sreelal Sankar is a Senior Ayurveda Physician at 5 star healing resort Ananda in the Himalayas. He was previously associated with numerous Ayurvedic medical institutions in India like Somatheeram Ayurveda Beach Resort, Kalari Kovilakom Ayurveda Hospital, The Nattika Ayurveda Beach Resort and Kalari Rasayana Ayurveda Hospital, before working at . He has a post graduate degree in Bioinformatics from IBAB, Bangalore and graduated in Ayurveda from V.P.S.V. Ayurveda College, Kottakkal.
