  • When You Feel Like Giving Up | God’s Strength in Discouragement
    2026/05/04

Have you ever felt so discouraged that you just want to give up?

Like you’re not good enough for what God has called you to do…
    Like you keep failing…
Or like you’re just too tired to keep going?

In this episode of Rise and Shine, Haylee talks honestly about discouragement and how even strong believers experience moments of deep exhaustion and doubt.

🔑 In This Episode, We Cover:

We look at the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 18–19—a prophet who had just experienced a powerful victory from God… and yet, shortly after, found himself afraid, discouraged, and ready to give up.

This episode reminds us of something incredibly important:

    Discouragement doesn’t disqualify you.

Even in Elijah’s fear, exhaustion, and negative thoughts, God didn’t abandon him—
He met him, provided for him, and restored him.

If you’ve been feeling weary, defeated, or questioning your calling, this episode will remind you that:

    • You are not alone
    • You are not failing
    • And God is not finished with you
    • Why discouragement often comes after spiritual victories
    • How the enemy uses fear and lies to make us want to quit
    • Why feeling tired doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong
    • The importance of rest and God’s provision
    • How God meets us in our lowest moments
    • Why we can trust God to refill what we don’t have
    • Learning to rely on God instead of our own strength📖 Key Scriptures:1 Kings 18–19

❤️ The Heart of This Episode

You can have a mountaintop moment…
and still find yourself in a valley.

But the same God who showed up in your victory
will meet you in your exhaustion.God doesn’t walk away when you’re discouraged—
    He draws near.

    Main Takeaway

    Discouragement doesn’t mean you’re failing.
    It often means you’re human.

But your strength was never meant to come from you—
    it comes from God.

    And He will refill you.

  • Serving Over Status | What Jesus Teaches About Greatness
    2026/04/27

In this episode of Rise and Shine, we talk about something that goes directly against the culture we live in — humility.

The world tells us to climb higher, build more, and become greater.
But Jesus teaches something completely different.

    He says:
“If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

Through passages like Mark 9, Matthew 18, and Mark 10, we see that the Kingdom of God doesn’t operate like the world. Greatness isn’t found in status, recognition, or accumulation — it’s found in humility, surrender, and service.

    Jesus Himself modeled this perfectly.
He humbled Himself, served others, washed feet, and ultimately gave His life on the cross.

This episode is a call to examine our hearts:

    • Are we chasing what looks valuable in the world… or what actually matters in eternity?
    • Are we trying to be first… or willing to be last?
    • Are we building our own name… or serving in a way that reflects Jesus?

We also talk about the danger of trusting in earthly treasures and why Scripture calls us to seek something greater — treasures in Heaven.

🔑 In This Episode, We Cover:

    • What biblical humility really looks like
    • Why Jesus says the first will be last
    • How pride quietly shows up in our lives
    • Why worldly success can distract us from eternal purpose
    • The example Jesus set through serving and sacrifice
    • Why we shouldn’t place our trust in earthly treasures
    • What it means to live for eternal rewards instead of temporary gain
    • How to practically walk in humility and serve others

    📖 Key Scriptures:

    Mark 9:33–37
    Matthew 18:1–5
    Mark 10:13–31
    Psalm 84:10

❤️ The Heart of This Episode

Jesus didn’t call us to build our own kingdoms.
He called us to lay them down.

In a world obsessed with being first, seen, and successful—
God calls His people to something deeper:

    Humility. Service. Surrender.

Because what we gain here won’t last.
But what we invest in eternity will.

    Main Takeaway

If we chase the things of this world, we may gain status—but lose perspective.

But when we choose humility, serve others, and seek God first, we gain something far greater:

    Eternal treasure.

  • Trusting God Isn’t One-Time—It’s Daily
    2026/04/21

In this episode of Rise and Shine, we continue last week’s conversation on worry by shifting our focus to the solution: daily trust in God.

Letting go of worry isn’t a one-time decision.
    It’s a daily choice.

Jesus calls us in Matthew 6:25–33 not just to stop worrying, but to seek first the Kingdom of God. That means learning to rely on Him—not just when life feels overwhelming, but every single day.

Because the truth is, when we don’t intentionally seek Him... we slowly drift.

We begin to rely on ourselves.
We carry things we were never meant to carry.
And before we know it, worry creeps back in.

This episode is a reminder that God desires daily relationship, not occasional dependence.

🔑 In This Episode, We Cover:

    • Why trusting God is a daily decision, not a one-time moment
    • How self-reliance leads us back into worry
    • What it truly means to seek first the Kingdom
    • Why spiritual drifting happens when we stop pursuing God
    • The importance of renewing our minds daily
    • How God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness
    • Choosing dependence on God instead of independence from Him

    📖 Key Scriptures:

    Matthew 6:25–33
    2 Corinthians 4:16–18
    2 Corinthians 12:7–10
    Lamentations 3:19–33

❤️ The Heart of This Episode

God doesn’t just want to rescue you from worry.
He wants a daily relationship with you.

He invites you to come to Him again and again—
to trust Him again and again—
to rely on Him again and again.

    Not because He needs it…
but because you do.✨ Main Takeaway

Freedom from worry isn’t found in trying harder.
It’s found in choosing to trust God daily.

    Seek Him.
    Rely on Him.
    Return to Him—every single day.

  • Let Go of Control & Find Peace | Trusting Jesus Over Worry
    2026/04/13

In this episode of Rise and Shine, we talk about something many believers quietly struggle with — control and worry.

    We try to manage outcomes.
    We strive for peace.
We work so hard to feel secure…

But what if in doing that, we’re missing what Jesus has already freely given?

Scripture reminds us that through His death and resurrection, Jesus already secured our freedom, joy, and peace. When we strive to manufacture those things in our own strength, we’re not walking in faith — we’re carrying something we were never meant to carry.

This episode is a call to release control, surrender worry, and trust Jesus fully.

🔑 In This Episode, We Cover:

    • Why trying to control everything leads to anxiety and exhaustion
    • How striving can pull us away from trusting Jesus
    • The difference between effort and surrender
    • Why worry reveals where we’re struggling to trust God
    • What it means to abide in Christ (not perform for Him)
    • Letting go of self-reliance and embracing dependence on God
    • How true peace comes from trusting, not controlling

    📖 Key Scriptures:

    Philippians 3:1–11
    1 Peter 5:6–7
    John 15
    Matthew 6:25–27

❤️ The Heart of This Episode

Jesus didn’t die so we could live exhausted, striving, and overwhelmed.

He died so we could walk in freedom.

When we hold tightly to control and worry, we’re often trying to earn or protect something that God has already given us through Christ.

    Surrender isn’t giving up.
It’s trusting the One who already finished the work.✨ Main Takeaway

You don’t have to strive for what Jesus already secured.

    Let go of control.
    Release the worry.
Abide in Him — and trust that He is enough.

  • Stop Avoiding Correction | What the Bible Actually Says
    2026/03/24

In this episode of Rise and Shine, we talk about something that many believers struggle with — correction.

In today’s culture, correction can feel uncomfortable, offensive, or even unloving. But Scripture shows us a very different picture. Biblical correction is not meant to tear down — it’s meant to build up, restore, and draw us closer to Christ.

So why are we so afraid of it?

And what would it look like if we actually desired correction instead of avoiding it?

Using examples from 2 Timothy and Philemon, along with multiple supporting scriptures, this episode unpacks how correction should be given and received — with humility, love, and truth.

We also talk about how avoiding correction can actually stunt spiritual growth, and why being open to it is a sign of maturity, not weakness.

🔑 In This Episode, We Cover:

    • Why correction is a necessary part of the Christian walk

    • How to correct others in love, not pride

    • Why we shouldn’t fear being corrected

    • The difference between condemnation and conviction

    • What Scripture says about teaching, rebuking, and training

    • How correction helps us grow spiritually

    • Why mature believers should actually desire correction

    • The importance of tone, relationship, and humility

      📖 Key Scriptures Mentioned:

    2 Timothy 3:16–17
    2 Timothy 4:2
Philemon (themes of loving appeal and restoration)
    Proverbs 27:17
    Galatians 6:1
    Ephesians 4:15

❤️ The Heart of This Episode

    Correction isn’t rejection.
    It’s refinement.

When done biblically, correction reflects the heart of God — truth spoken in love for the purpose of growth.

We aren’t called to ignore sin or stay silent.
We’re called to walk with one another toward Christ.

If we want to grow in our faith, we can’t run from correction — we need to welcome it.

    Main Takeaway

God often uses other believers to sharpen us, guide us, and bring us back when we drift. The question is… are we willing to receive it?

  • The Devil Wants You Exhausted | Stand Firm in Christ
    2026/03/17

In this short episode of Rise and Shine, we dive into 1 Peter 5:8, where Scripture warns believers to be sober-minded and alert because the enemy is prowling like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

The reality of spiritual warfare can feel overwhelming at times, but the Bible makes something very clear: we are not powerless in this fight.

Through Jesus, believers have been given authority to stand against the enemy. The danger comes when we try to fight battles in our own strength instead of relying on the power of God.

Many times the enemy doesn’t attack with something obvious. Instead, he slowly wears believers down through distraction, discouragement, and exhaustion until we begin trying to carry the battle ourselves.

In this episode we talk about:

    • Why the enemy tries to wear believers down

    • How spiritual exhaustion can make us vulnerable

    • The authority Jesus has given His followers

    • Why fighting in our own power leads to burnout

    • What it means to stay spiritually alert

    • How to resist the enemy and stand firm in faith

    • Trusting God instead of striving

We end the episode by reading the second half of Psalm 33, a beautiful reminder that the Lord watches over those who fear Him and trust in His unfailing love.

No matter what spiritual battle you are facing, God has not left you defenseless.

    🔑 Key Scriptures

    1 Peter 5:8
    James 4:7
    2 Corinthians 10:3–5
    Ephesians 6:11–13
    Isaiah 54:17
    Psalm 33:12–22

    ✨ Main Takeaway

The enemy wants to wear you out and pull you into fighting battles in your own strength. But Scripture reminds us that victory does not come from striving — it comes from standing firm in the authority Jesus has already given us.

Stay alert. Resist the enemy. Trust the Lord.

  • When Favor Brings Opposition | Lessons from David’s Life
    2026/03/09

In this episode of Rise and Shine, we continue the story of David by reading through 1 Samuel chapters 18–20.

After defeating Goliath, David quickly rises in favor with the people of Israel. Scripture tells us again and again that David was successful because the Lord was with him.

But success and obedience didn’t mean life became easier.

Instead, David begins facing jealousy, betrayal, and even attempts on his life from King Saul. These chapters remind us of an important truth: following God faithfully does not mean we will avoid hardship.

Many times when things go wrong, our first instinct is to ask:
    “What did I do wrong?”

But David’s story shows us that sometimes the opposition we face is not punishment — it’s simply part of walking with God in a broken world.

Even in the midst of danger, God did not leave David alone. He sent him a loyal friend in Jonathan, whose friendship became a powerful example of encouragement, loyalty, and godly support.

In this episode we talk about:

    • Why David was successful in everything he did

    • How God's presence is the true source of success

    • Why obedience to God does not guarantee an easy path

    • The danger of jealousy and comparison

    • How God provides support through friendships

    • The powerful covenant friendship between David and Jonathan

    • Trusting God when life doesn’t make sense

David’s life reminds us that God’s favor doesn’t always remove the battle — but He never abandons us in it.

    1 Samuel 18–20

    Key themes:

    • David’s success because the Lord was with him

    • Saul’s jealousy and growing hostility

    • Jonathan’s covenant friendship with David

    • God’s faithfulness even in danger

Following God doesn’t mean life will always be easy.
But it does mean you will never face it alone.

God was with David in every victory and every trial — and He even provided a faithful friend to walk through the battle with him.

  • What Do Christians Mean by That? Breaking Down ‘Christian Speak’ with Teresa Gambler
    2026/03/02

In this episode of Rise and Shine, Haylee sits down with special guest Teresa Gambler to unpack something we don’t often talk about — “Christian speak.”

    Words like:

    • Sanctification

    • Obedience

    • Heart posture

    • Plead the blood

These phrases are common in church culture… but do we really understand what they mean? And more importantly — do the people we’re ministering to understand them?

Together, we break down these biblical terms in simple, accessible language and discuss how we can share truth without sounding confusing, exclusive, or disconnected.

Because if our goal is to reach people with the Gospel, clarity matters.

    We also talk about:

    • Why building relationship comes before correction

    • Ministering in love instead of superiority

    • Why tone and delivery matter

    • The difference between spiritual maturity and spiritual vocabulary

    • Making sure our language reflects the heart of Jesus

This conversation is especially helpful for:

    • New believers

    • Christians discipling others

    • Those who grew up in church but never understood the terminology

    • Anyone who wants to communicate their faith more effectively

    🔑 Key Topics Discussed

    • What sanctification actually means (and what it doesn’t)

    • Biblical obedience vs. performance-based religion

    • What people mean by “check your heart posture”

    • What “pleading the blood of Jesus” means biblically

    • Why Christian jargon can unintentionally push people away

    • Sharing truth without watering it down

    • Building relational bridges before speaking correction

    • Ministering in love so people can receive the message

❤️ The Heart of This Episode

The goal isn’t to eliminate biblical language.
It’s to make sure we’re speaking in a way that reflects Jesus — clear, compassionate, and rooted in love.

We don’t want to just sound spiritual.
We want to help people understand truth.

Truth delivered without love can wound.
Truth delivered in love can transform.
