Richard Kolko serves as WINK News’ Security Analyst, helping viewers stay informed and prepared on issues that affect their security at home, on the road, and online. With decades of experience in military aviation, federal law enforcement, and homeland security, Rich brings trusted, real-world expertise to the WINK team.

Rich, a retired U.S. Navy Commander and retired FBI Special Agent, spent over 20 years conducting investigations and leading national security operations. His career has included multiple roles as a government contractor focused on security and intelligence and serving WINK News from 2019 to 2021 as Security Specialist before returning in 2025 in his current role.

Rich’s reporting has earned industry recognition, including an Emmy nomination for Breaking News and a Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists award for Use of Technology.

He holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Miami and a Master’s in Homeland Security from American Military University. Born in Rochester and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, Rich now calls Southwest Florida home.
