What if the biggest thing holding you back isn’t what happened to you but the story you keep telling about it? I’m Jackson, and today I’m getting personal about the mindset shift that has shaped my life as a woman, a single mom, and a certified life coach: your circumstances are real, but your interpretation of them is what drives your emotions, choices, and results.

I start with a quick midlife life update, from stepping into a new job with more responsibility to prepping for a cross-country trip to Charleston with my son. Then we go deeper into the heart of the conversation: how two people can live through the same obstacle and create totally different outcomes based on the narrative they repeat. I share why I never let single motherhood at 21 become a “victim” story, and how that decision changed what I believed was possible for me and my son.

I also talk openly about mental health, including a period of severe anxiety and depression that led to hospitalization, plus the ripple effects that medication and weight gain can have on identity and confidence. If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and felt like you lost yourself, I want you to hear this clearly: that chapter does not disqualify you from health, growth, or a life you love.
