The Bible shows us how to walk in unity, what truly unites us, how to view denominational differences, and how to cultivate unity in your family, church, and community. Where there is unity, God commands a blessing!

On this Mother's Day, our next passage in the Gospel of John very fittingly compares the disciple's mourning to the anguish of a mother in childbirth, which doesn't compare to the joy she experiences once the baby is born! Similarly, the pain and trials we endure on this earth are only temporary, and do not compare to the joyful reality of our future with Christ. We have hope in Jesus, no matter what we are going through!

This Sunday our own Kelley Schubert is speaking on the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives in John 16. We often take for granted the incredible gift we have today with the Holy Spirit active in our daily lives!

We are back in John this week on the topic of persecution and opposition in the Christian walk. There will always be trials in our lives, as Jesus said "If the world hates you, know that it hated me first." John 15:18. But Jesus promised to be with us always, and has given us power to resist and overcome temptation. Feeling tempted isn't a sin - it's how you respond to that temptation!
