  • James Clarence: Is Creativity The Blueprint For Revival? | 003
    2025/09/19

In this episode, Jess sits down with James Clarence: A lead pastor, strategist, and visionary, to explore the powerful intersection of creativity and leadership. Before stepping into his current role in Yellowknife, James was a Next Gen Pastor with a deep passion for unity in cities across Canada. That passion sparked the 403 Network, a movement that brought together youth groups across Calgary with one goal: to glorify Jesus in unity.

But James’ story didn’t stop there. With a growing need for leadership in the North, he took a bold leap of faith and moved to the Northwest Territories, where he's now leading with both conviction and creativity in a region that is often overlooked. Together, Jess and James unpack how strategy itself can be a creative act, why unifying the church requires imagination, incredible vision, and how obedience to God often leads us into unknown, but beautiful, territory.

This episode is an invitation to rethink leadership as an art form, and to consider how God might be calling each of us to lead creatively, courageously, and sacrificially... Right where we are, or somewhere entirely new.

  • Ryan & Wendy Wegner: Creating in Seasons of Hardship | 002
    2025/08/15

In this episode, I’m joined by my friends Ryan and Wendy for an honest and heartfelt conversation about the creative journey and what it really looks like to make things in the midst of real life.

Together, we talk about collaboration and the beauty of creating in community, the rhythms that shape our creative process, and the boundaries we’ve had to set to protect what matters most. We also reflect on what it means to keep showing up and to keep creating even when life feels heavy or uncertain.

This conversation was recorded a few months ago, and since then, Wendy has experienced deep personal loss. We hold that tenderly as we release this episode, knowing that these words now carry even greater weight.

Whether you’re walking through something hard, wrestling with your own creative rhythms, or just need to hear that you’re not alone, this one’s for you.

  • Jess DiSabatino: Does God Actually Care About The Arts? | 001
    2025/08/01

In the debut episode of Renaissance Creative Leadership Podcast, Jess Sanchez sits down with pastor, leader, and communicator Jess DiSabatino to explore a foundational question: Does God actually care about the arts?

From the divine craftsmanship of Exodus 31 to the prophetic role of artists today, we unpack what Scripture reveals about God's heart for creativity.

We also take a look back at church history particularly the shift that happened after the Middle Ages, when the Protestant Reformation, while vital in many ways, inadvertently de-emphasized the role of beauty, imagination, and the arts in worship and theology. This departure helped form a lingering paradigm in modern church culture: that the arts are secondary or even unnecessary.

This episode is both a theological and pastoral encouragement for anyone wrestling with their place in the Church or the world as a creative. Whether you're a painter, poet, filmmaker, or musician, you’ll walk away with a deeper sense of purpose, and a reminder that God is not indifferent to your work; He is the One who called you to it.
