In the final week of Christmas (Without the Crazy), we discover that God doesn’t wait for perfect conditions to draw near. In Isaiah 7:14, a reluctant king is given a surprising sign—a virgin will conceive and bear a son called Immanuel, God with us. That promise comes to life in Mary’s womb and Joseph’s confusion. God steps right into the clutter and chaos of our world to bring peace that lasts. Advent invites us to make room for him—not after the mess is gone, but right in the middle of it.

As Christmas (Without the Crazy) continues, we learn that joy isn’t waiting for us at the end of the road—it’s found along the way. In Isaiah 35:1-10, deserts burst into bloom and weary travelers sing for joy as they journey home. Jesus tells John’s disciples that the blind see and the lame walk—God’s joy is already breaking into our world. Even in weary seasons, joy grows when we walk with the One who goes before us.

The second week of Christmas (Without the Crazy) invites us to step out of December’s clamor and into God’s calm. In Isaiah 11:1-10, a shoot springs from the stump of Jesse and ushers in a peace so complete that wolves and lambs live side by side. John the Baptist’s voice echoes that same peace, crying out in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord. True peace begins not in perfect circumstances, but when we quiet our hearts to hear God’s voice above the noise.

On Christ the King Sunday, we conclude our Entrusted series by focusing on wise stewardship. In the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), Jesus tells of servants entrusted with resources to manage until the master’s return. One was faithful, one was fearful, and the King held them accountable. Stewardship is not just about money—it’s about how we live all of life under Christ’s reign, managing what he has entrusted for his glory and the good of others. Come, rejoice in Christ our King!
