- Peggy Dalton bought the schoolhouse in April 2010 and had swept the main room the night before March 4, 2011.
- The lunch pail was found equidistant from all four walls in the center of the main room on the morning of March 4, 2011.
- The chalk smell occurred only in the mornings between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m., and only during February of 2011.
- Flooring contractor Pete Ybarra assessed the central patch as wear consistent with 30-50 years of regular foot traffic despite a 2008 refinishing.
- The school had ceased classroom use in 1961, and a nine-year-old girl had once sat at a desk positioned above the worn patch of floor.
