  • Episode 22: The Prevalence of Emotional Abuse in Romantic Relationships
    2025/12/14

Emotional abuse is far more common than most people realize and often far harder to identify than physical abuse. In this episode, I take an honest, compassionate look at how emotional abuse shows up in romantic relationships, why it’s frequently minimized or normalized, and the long-term impact it can have on self-worth, identity, and emotional safety.

Many survivors don’t recognize emotional abuse until after the relationship has ended. Others sense that something feels wrong but can’t quite name it. This episode is about giving language to those experiences without shame, blame, or judgment.

I explore how emotional abuse can appear subtle, inconsistent, and confusing, often disguised as love, concern, or “just the way they are.” I also discuss why emotionally abusive dynamics are so prevalent, how they affect the nervous system, and why leaving or setting boundaries can feel so difficult.

This conversation is meant to educate, validate, and empower whether you’re currently in a relationship, healing from one, or supporting someone who is.

    In this episode, I cover:
    • What emotional abuse actually looks like in romantic relationships
    • Common behaviors that are often overlooked or normalized
    • Why emotional abuse is so prevalent and why it’s rarely talked about
    • How emotional abuse impacts self-trust, confidence, and emotional safety
    • Why survivors often question themselves instead of the behavior
    • How awareness is the first step toward reclaiming your power

This episode is for anyone who has ever wondered:

    “Is this normal?”

“Why do I feel so small in this relationship?”

“Why is it so hard to leave or speak up?”

    You are not imagining it.

    You are not too sensitive.

    And you are not alone.

Listen with care and take what resonates.

  • Episode 21: Understanding Hoovering – The “Reformed Partner” Tactic
    2025/12/14

Hoovering is one of the most confusing and emotionally destabilizing behaviors that can occur after the end of a toxic or emotionally abusive relationship. In this bonus episode, I break down what hoovering really is, how it shows up, and why the “reformed partner” version can be especially convincing.

Many survivors are drawn back in not because they are weak, but because hoovering is designed to activate hope, empathy, and unfinished emotional bonds. When a former partner appears self-aware, apologetic, or suddenly “changed,” it can create deep internal conflict especially if you’ve spent a long time waiting for accountability.

This episode is about clarity over confusion. I explore why hoovering happens, how the reformed-partner narrative works psychologically, and how to tell the difference between genuine change and emotional manipulation without shame, blame, or self-judgment.

    In this episode, I cover:
    • What hoovering is and why it happens
    • How the “reformed partner” tactic works
    • Common hoovering behaviors disguised as growth or accountability
    • How to protect your healing and boundaries without guilt

    If you’ve ever thought:

    “They finally get it.”

“Maybe this time will be different.”

“What if I’m walking away too soon?”

This episode offers language, perspective, and grounding, not fear.

You don’t need to prove anything.

You don’t need closure from the person who caused the wound.

And you don’t need to re-enter a dynamic to validate your healing.

Listen with discernment, and trust what your body already knows.
