  • Built Different (Nehemiah 3) We Make It Better Together
    2026/08/30

A hundred-year mission sat unfinished, and everyone had a reason it couldn’t change. Then Nehemiah asked one dangerous question: “What if?” That single shift moved a whole community from stuck to building, and it’s the kind of faith reset we all need when life feels overwhelming, messy, or just plain stalled.

We talk through mission, vision, and values as the real blueprint for discipleship and daily life. We name our church’s mission to make disciples and unpack what that looks like in practice: knowing God together, growing in freedom together, and sharing Christ with everyone. From there, we open Nehemiah 3, the chapter most people skip, and discover why a long list of names is actually a picture of community transformation: ordinary people repairing the wall right in front of their own homes.

The big takeaway is a value we can live today: make it better together. Not by being perfect, but by doing the best we can with what God has given us. That posture turns everyday service into worship, gives God room to grow us through hard people and changed plans, and helps us stop looking “somewhere else” for purpose when God may have placed our assignment right where we are. If you’re tired, anxious, or discouraged, we also speak directly to the lie that you’re falling behind and remind you that God is working in you, giving you the desire and power to do what pleases him.

Listen, share this with a friend who needs hope, and then subscribe and leave a review so more people can find the kind of joy that gets built one faithful section at a time.

  • Three Lessons My Father Taught Me (Eric Leach)
    2026/08/24

Some of the biggest turning points in life start with a small sentence you can’t shake. Eric shares three “dad sayings” that became a blueprint for Christian character, healthy ambition, and everyday discipleship: know the janitor’s name, be an active participant in your own survival, and keep your head up and your chin down. They sound simple until you realize they challenge how we treat people, how we respond to pain, and how we handle work, money, relationships, and setbacks.

We talk about what it means to truly see people instead of looking past them, and why favoritism contradicts the Kingdom of God. Jesus keeps stopping for the person the crowd wants to silence, and that becomes our model for compassion, leadership, and evangelism that feels human. You’ll hear real stories from the workplace that show how encouragement and noticing someone can spark confidence, healing, and long-term impact.

Then we dig into the tension between faith and action: trusting God completely while taking responsibility for what’s in our hands. From Noah picking up the hammer to Nehemiah praying and setting a guard, the message is clear: prayer prepares us for movement, not avoidance. Finally, we land on mindset and discipline, learning to renew our minds, guard what we dwell on, and work with diligence as a witness for Christ without drifting into burnout.

If you want practical Christian leadership, stronger spiritual habits, and a hopeful mindset that holds up under pressure, press play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a reset, and leave a review. What’s one “first step” you know God is asking you to take this week?

  • Built Different (Nehemiah 2) We See People
    2026/08/17

Your life is being built right now, whether you mean to build it or not. We talk about why “good intentions” are never enough for a healthy marriage, a healthy family, or a healthy walk with God, and we use a simple picture to make it stick: mission is the big idea, vision is the blueprint, and values are the tools that finally turn plans into progress. If you’ve felt stuck in discipleship, this is the reset that puts traction back under your feet.

From there, we step into Nehemiah’s story, where the mission to rebuild Jerusalem has been stalled for years. Nehemiah inspects the broken walls in the dark, tells the truth about the rubble, and then does something that changes everything: he brings people with him. That leads to a core value we focus on at RLC, “seeing people.” In a culture that trains us to ask who is watching us, Jesus calls us to look outward and become a blessing, the kind of person who walks into a room ready to double someone’s joy and cut their sorrow in half.

We get practical about Christian community, friendship, life groups, and accountability, because discipleship is a team sport. We also talk about being a “3 a.m. friend,” staying focused when opposition and distractions hit, and the hope that steadies us when loneliness creeps in: God is the God who sees you. If you’re ready to live differently so you can build differently, press play, then share this with someone you want to walk with, and leave a review to help more people find the show.
