  • Ep. 13 - The One with Liz Recchia

    Liz is the Director of Governmental Affairs at WeServ and joins me to chat about the many faces of WeServ. Liz shares how she and her husband found their way into the real estate business many years ago by flipping houses basically with their own bare hands. She is a wealth of knowledge and part of the White Paper Sub Committee writing on topics like Sign Ordinance and Eminent Domain & Private Property Rights. We learn that WeServ hosted an impactful series of city meetings that were so well received and will help ensure that our cities develop strategically and according to what is actually needed. WeServ also contracted with an Economic Analyst and outlined a housing study that highlights the private sector - talking about housing solutions like short term rentals who have a bad reputation right now but serve a key role in our economy. Lastly we wrap up by talking about the many reasons to join WeServ as an agent or an affiliate. There is something at WeServ for every personality type plus lots of events and continuing education.   • Ep. 10 - The One where we talk about AZ Water with Cynthia Campbell

    Cynthia Campbell graces us with her presence and sheds some light on various water related issues in the state of Arizona. She is the Phoenix Water Resources Management Advisor and is the city’s liaison with the state of Arizona Central Arizona Project and various other organizations on water resource issues. I call my friend and realtor, broker Cindy Sessions (who also owns a consulting business that specializes in commercial and residential plan review, building inspections and permit techs) and I have her ask Cynthia some questions that she's been pondering about monitors/meters on public water supplies. Stay tuned until the end where we touch on the Rio Verde situation and discuss what perhaps should have happened way back when this land was sold prior to being built on.     A realtor, an escrow officer and a marketing rep walk into a recording studio - anything could happen!

    We welcome escrow officer, Teresa Rogers to Pinnacle Title! She has worked with several of our team members before and we are thrilled to come full circle with her. Teresa connected me with long-time realtor/broker Lester Cox and insisted that I invite him to chat - he did not disappoint!  Lester is one of the few professionals who can claim the realtor role as their one and only profession. Over time, that gives him experience and know-how when it comes to navigating the ups and downs of the real estate market.  If you want to find out specifically why I love the podcasting platform (less important) and what Lester suggests agents do to succeed (much more important), then tune in. Lester is growing a select team and still taking on a few more agents to coach.  Mentors are vital in any field and real estate is no exception. We learn which book Lester recommends and find out who was/is his mentor. Teresa shares how she made her way into the Title industry and we learn what makes her stand out. I note that she is a good listener and doesn't seem to be formulating her next response when Lester is talking.  That takes discipline! Last but not least, we also discuss what's reasonable to expect this month.

John breaks down the three D's of Auctioneering - Debt, Death and Divorce. We bust the myths of auction properties being distressed homes, and learn more about foreclosures. These guys have been in AZ real estate for a hot scorching minute and are open to educating the public and agents alike on the auction process. These properties are on MLS and provide yet another avenue for buyer's agents who are looking to find the right home for their client.  If you want to power sell a home and get lots of eyeballs on it in a specific time period, I would urge you to check this out.
