  • 21. A Charlie Brown Christmas - Twenty Fifthmas part 3
    2026/03/25

Today, we’re going all the way back to 1965 for a true original — A Charlie Brown Christmas. The very first television special based on Charles M. Schulz’s beloved Peanuts comic strip, and one that somehow did something completely different. No laugh track, no flashy animation, just quiet moments, simple music, and a story about a kid trying to figure out why Christmas doesn’t feel like Christmas anymore.

With Vince Guaraldi’s unforgettable jazz score, that little scraggly tree, and a group of kids who somehow managed to be both hilarious and brutally honest, this special carved out a place in holiday history that still holds up today. It didn’t just entertain — it said something. And in the middle of all the commercialism and chaos, it reminded us to slow down and actually think about what the season means.

So whether you're putting on your Christmas Play, or trying to find that perfect Christmas Tree, this one’s for you. Tonight we’re rewinding to a time of Beagle's Showing off their Figure Skating Skills, Children being brutally mean to each other, and a Christmas special that reminds us — "What Christmas is all about Charlie Brown"

  • 20. Scrooged - Twenty Fifthmas part 2
    2026/02/25

Ttoday, we’re heading back to 1988 for Scrooged, starring Bill Murray and directed by Richard Donner. This isn’t your traditional Christmas Carol — it’s louder, funnier, a little sharper around the edges, and completely soaked in late-’80s energy. Murray plays Frank Cross, a fast-talking, ratings-obsessed television executive who’s forgotten just about everything that makes Christmas… well, Christmas. That is, until he gets the full Ebenezer Scrooge treatment, courtesy of three ghosts determined to show him where his life went wrong — and where it could still go right.

What makes Scrooged such a perfect retro holiday movie is how it takes Charles Dickens’ timeless story and filters it through neon lights, big personalities, and that uniquely ‘80s mix of cynicism and heart. It’s funny, it’s chaotic, it’s occasionally weird — but underneath it all is the same message that’s been passed down since Dickens first wrote it: that kindness matters, redemption is possible, and sometimes it takes a wake-up call to remember what really counts.

So whether you're flipping through the Sears wish book, or trying to record the annual showing of It's a Wonderful Life, this one’s for you. Tonight we’re rewinding to a time of big sweaters, big laughs, and Christmas movies that reminded us — sometimes loudly — what the season was really all about. Let’s talk Scrooged, right here on RadioWayne’s Twenty Fifthmas

  • 19. Home Alone - Twenty Fifthmas part 1
    2026/01/25

Today’s episode is extra special, because this is part 1 of our Christmas Series called Twenty Fifthmas! Every month on the 25th we’ll be sharing a new Christmas themed Episode to bring some joy and cheer our way all year long! Today we’re talking about one of the most beloved holiday films ever made: Home Alone.

Released in 1990 and directed by Chris Columbus, Home Alone became an instant seasonal classic. It’s the story of young Kevin McCallister — a kid who wakes up to find his entire family has accidentally left him behind for the holidays. What follows is pure movie magic: a mix of Christmas warmth, childhood bravery, and some of the most memorable slapstick ever put on film.

The movie captured exactly what it felt like to be a kid at Christmastime — the freedom, the fear, the excitement, and that feeling that your house, your neighborhood, and your imagination were one big adventure waiting to happen. From sledding down the stairs to defending his home from a pair of bumbling burglars, Kevin showed us all what courage (and a little creativity) could look like.

And beyond the laughs and iconic moments, Home Alone became a true cultural touchstone. It’s one of those movies we return to every December — a warm reminder of holidays past, of childhood wonder, and of the simple joy of watching the Wet Bandits get absolutely wrecked by paint cans.

So pour some hot cocoa, grab a slice of cheese pizza, and let’s take a festive trip back to 1990 as we revisit the yuletide brilliance of Home Alone, right here on RadioWayne’s Twenty Fifthmas

    Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal.

  • 18. SilverHawks
    2025/10/30

Today, we’re taking flight into the metal-feathered, laser-blasting world of SilverHawks! Premiering in 1986, SilverHawks came from the same creative minds that gave us ThunderCats — and you can tell. It was part superhero, part space opera, and all ‘80s awesome. The story followed a team of half-human, half-cyborg heroes with wings of steel and hearts of gold, who patrolled the galaxy to stop the villainous Mon*Star and his intergalactic gang of baddies.

With its shiny animation style, rock-and-roll theme song, and a toy line that had every kid begging for a figure with real “metallic” armor, SilverHawks was a cosmic blast of action and adventure. It may not have soared quite as high in popularity as its ThunderCats cousins, but for those of us who watched, it left a lasting mark — part nostalgia, part space-age daydream.

So strap on those metal wings, True Believers, and get ready to rocket through the galaxy of memories. This episode, we’re shining a spotlight on the one, the only… SilverHawks!

  • 17. ET: The Extra-Terrestrial
    2025/10/20

Today, we’re phoning home to talk about one of the most magical — and heartwarming — films of the ‘80s: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

Released in 1982 and directed by Steven Spielberg, E.T. told the story of a lonely boy named Elliott who befriends a stranded alien and helps him find his way home. But E.T. was so much more than a sci-fi story — it was a film about friendship, wonder, and believing in something bigger than yourself. It captured the innocence of childhood in a way that still hits us right in the feels today.

From glowing fingertips to flying bicycles silhouetted against the moon, E.T. became an instant classic that defined an era — and let’s be real, it also made Reese’s Pieces a Halloween candy legend. Between the trick-or-treat scenes, the heart-tugging goodbyes, and that unforgettable John Williams score, E.T. remains one of the purest pieces of movie magic ever made.

So whether you’re out collecting candy, carving pumpkins, or just want to relive a little of that wide-eyed wonder, this one’s for you. Get ready to light up the sky with nostalgia — because tonight, we’re phoning home to 1982 for a Halloween journey with E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,

    2025/09/15

Today, we’re putting on our helmets and activating our hidden weapons, because we're diving headfirst into the world of M.A.S.K.! That's right, Mobile Armored Strike Kommand—the franchise that combined everything we loved about action-packed cartoons with transforming vehicles, secret missions, and helmets that did way more than protect your noggin.

Launched in the mid-'80s, M.A.S.K. followed the adventures of Matt Trakker and his elite squad of heroes as they battled the sinister organization known as V.E.N.O.M.—the Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem (seriously, how great were '80s acronyms?). With toys that transformed from everyday cars and motorcycles into heavily-armed battle machines, M.A.S.K. captured our imaginations, emptied our parents' wallets, and made us all secretly hope our own family station wagon might suddenly sprout wings and missiles.

So, buckle up, rev up the engines, activate the masks, and dive into the covert, high-octane world of M.A.S.K. — right here on RadioWayne’s One to Grow On!
