Dr. Carole is just back from volunteering in Israel, as a psychiatrist, helping Israelis with trauma from October 7 and beyond, today's show unveils what Israel is REALLY like. Her guests are Ilana O'Malley and Tal Nir, the two women who founded Planetherapy, a volunteer organization that provides free therapy to Israelis, in Israel and throughout the world.
Dr. Carole is honored to have been amongst Planetherapy's first delegation to Israel, helping civilians, IDF military and families of hostages. Based in Tel Aviv, the delegation traveled throughout the country to reach people in the kibbutzim attacked by Hamas terrorists in the cruelest ways; to bear witness to the Nova Festival attack site; to help the Zaka group; to help-the-helpers, therapists who have been helping Israelis; and much more.
The Planetherapy delegation went all over Israel and rounded out the trip by visiting Old Jerusalem and the Western Wall to feel renewed. Our guide, Aryeh Jacobson, was much more than a 'tour guide'. He is an Israeli who embodies the spirit of Israel and helped us to see and understand everything at a deeper level.
The people of Israel are the most resilient in the world. They are surrounded by countries
with terrorists who want to destroy them. October 7 wasn't the first attack they have defended their country against, but it was the most barbarous that Israel and the rest of the world has ever seen. So, the effects have lingered on….
