  • Jonah 3:1 - The Persistence & Pursuit of God
    2025/10/19

We're diving into Jonah 3:1 this week on Proclaiming His Word, zeroing in on that pivotal moment where the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time. After the storm, the fish, and the rebellion, we see God's unwavering persistence—not just chasing down a reluctant prophet, but pursuing an entire enemy nation with grace they didn't deserve. From Nineveh's turnaround to the broader sweep of Scripture, we'll trace how God's heart beats for the nations, from Abraham's blessing to Christ's command to make disciples everywhere, culminating in that heavenly multitude from every tribe and tongue. It's a reminder that His pursuit didn't stop at the cross; it reached into your life before you even drew breath. Join me as we unpack this living Word and let it stir our souls. Let's dig in and look to Jesus, our true hope!

  • Jonah 2 - Almost Repentant
    2025/10/12

In Jonah 2, we find a prophet in the depths — not only of the sea, but of his own sin. From the belly of the fish, Jonah cries out to God, but was he truly repentant… or merely desperate for deliverance? In this message, we’ll examine the marks of true repentance, as outlined by J.C. Ryle, and hold them up against Jonah’s prayer to see what genuine repentance looks like in the life of a believer. Join me as we consider whether Jonah was “almost repentant,” and what that means for our walk with Christ. Let’s dig in and look to Jesus, our true hope!

  • Jonah 1:17 - God’s Sovereign Compassion
    2025/10/05

This week on Proclaiming His Word, we’re turning our attention to Jonah 1:17 and considering what this short book reveals about the Sovereignty and Compassion of God. Jonah may be known as the wayward prophet, but this story isn’t ultimately about him — it’s about the Lord who rules over all creation and yet chooses to show mercy toward it.

From the storm that raged on the sea to the great fish that swallowed the prophet, every detail reminds us that God is directing His creation toward His glorious purposes. And even more incredible is that His sovereign rule is matched by His deep compassion. He is the same God who calls, forgives, and restores.
Join me as we look to this faithful God who is both Sovereign and Compassionate. Let’s dig in and look to Jesus, our true hope!
