  • Iron Will, Unshakable Mindset: Defying Limits with Roderick Sewell
    2025/07/30

In this episode of Pro Mindset ® Podcast, host Craig Domann sits down with history-making Ironman Athlete and Adaptive Sports Champion Roderick Sewell. Born without tibias in both legs and undergoing a double amputation before the age of 2, Roderick’s journey is a masterclass in resilience, grit, and the power of mindset.

He shares how his mother Marian and him navigated homelessness while fighting for access to the prosthetics he needed. Her sacrifices and the life-changing support of the Challenged Athletes Foundation gave Roderick the tools—and the hope—to thrive. With the help of dedicated mentors, he learned to swim, ran with prosthetic blades, and eventually joined the U.S. Para-swimming team, earning multiple international medals.

In 2019, Roderick made history as the first bilateral above-the-knee amputee to complete the Ironman World Championship in Kona, conquering 140.6 miles of swim, bike, and run across Hawaii’s Big Island.

    Episode Takeaways:
💥 Your Circumstances Don’t Define You—Your Mindset Does
💥 Overcome Fear by Taking Action
    💥 Purpose Outlasts Pain

The conversation dives into how sports shifted Roderick’s mindset, gave him purpose, and taught him to view every challenge—on and off the course—as something he could overcome.
He also talks about his upcoming book, Iron Will, which tells the full story of his and his mother’s perseverance and sacrifices.

  • The Mindset Behind Butch Reynolds’ Legacy
    2025/07/23

In this episode of Pro Mindset® Podcast, host Craig Domann sits down with Olympic Gold Medalist and former World Record Holder Butch Reynolds. They dive into Butch’s incredible journey from junior college athlete to becoming the fastest man in the world, breaking the 400-meter world record in 1988 with a time of 43.29 seconds—a record that stood for 11 years.

Butch shares how his relentless mindset and training philosophy helped him earn a silver medal in the 400 and a gold in the 4x400 relay at the 1988 Olympics. He also recounts his success at the World Championships, where he won three golds in the 4x400 relay (1987, 1993, 1995), two silvers in the 400 (1993, 1995), a bronze in 1987, and a gold at the 1993 World Indoor Championships.

    Episode Takeaways:

    ● Control What You Can — and Stay Ready

    ● Never Let Setbacks Define You

    ● Use Your Platform for Purpose

The conversation also takes a powerful turn as Butch opens up about the challenges he faced after a controversial and ultimately false positive drug test in 1990. He details his years-long legal battle, which reached the U.S. Supreme Court, and the impact of being barred by the IAAF from competing in the 1992 Olympics despite being cleared. His story is the subject of the award-winning ESPN 30 for 30 documentary "False Positive."

Butch talks about how he overcame adversity with grace, and how love, acceptance, and mindset shaped his life beyond the track. He discusses his current work as a motivational speaker, speed coach, and founder of the Butch Reynolds Care for Kids Foundation. His Gold Medal Mindset program continues to inspire athletes and audiences across the country.
