**Count It All Joy: How God Uses Trials to Mature Us | James 1:1-4**
Trials are unavoidable. Every person will face hardship, difficulty, disappointment, and suffering in this life. But for the Christian, trials are not meaningless obstacles—they are opportunities for God to work in us.
In James 1, Pastor James writes to believers who were scattered, persecuted, and facing tremendous hardship. Yet his command is surprising: **“Count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.”**
How can a Christian have joy in the middle of trials? Not because the trial itself is enjoyable, but because we know that God is using it for a greater purpose. Trials test our faith, produce endurance, and mature us in Christ.
In this message from James 1:1-4, we examine:
* The reality of trials — trials are inevitable and come in many forms.
* The response toward trials — we can respond with complaint or with confidence in God’s purpose.
* The result of enduring trials — God uses them to grow us into mature followers of Jesus.
The Christian life is not a life free from hardship, but a life where God meets us in the hardship. He uses every trial to show His grace, strengthen our faith, and conform us more into the image of Christ.
**Christian, embrace trials with joy because God uses them to mature you in Christ.**
