“Prayer: Be Patient” is a short, heart-searching devotional based on Colossians 3:12–14, where God calls us to clothe ourselves with tender-hearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Each day we encounter people who test us—some who oppose us outright, and others who challenge us without even meaning to. In these moments, this devotional reminds us who we belong to and how we are called to respond.
Grounded in verse 13, it points us back to the truth that God has made great allowances for our faults and has freely forgiven us in Christ. Remembering how much we’ve been forgiven becomes our “grounding rod” when we’re hurt, angry, or frustrated. As we bring that pain to the cross and recall Jesus’ sacrifice for us, our hearts are softened. Patience becomes possible. Forgiveness becomes possible. And from that place, we can begin to love others—especially the difficult ones—the way Christ loves us.
