概要

Practice Dirty is a podcast that explores ways of thinking and being that help black and women of color explore their inner well-being through somatic practices and mindfulness.

The podcast is non-linear, while I offer my own experiences and knowledge, I also talk to others who are working to expand the definition of wellness.  I offer a lot of guided, self-introspection episodes to help you manage your own journey to inner well-being and balance.

    2022/11/23

Practice Dirty is a podcast for professional women over 40, who have reached the point in their lives where they are starting to reevaluate what is important to them, because mentally they are overwhelmed, struggling, or falling apart.

More often than not, they're starting to question if it's time to make a change in life. And if so, what changes to make and how.

The topics in this podcast serve as an invitation to explore you own journey to inner wellbeing and mental health. This podcast is one-part practice (breathwork, meditation, mindfulness), one-part self introspection, and one-part the stories of other women who left the professional roles they had in order to build and do something different.

  • Episode 002: Destigmatizing Mental Health, Trauma-Informed Practices for BIPOC Communities, and Finding Inner Peace
    2022/11/23

In the first episode of Practice Dirty, I sit down and talk with Hatty Lee, one of the co-creators of The Indwell Guide. In this episode, Hatty and I discuss:

    • How the book was created in response to #BlackLivesMatter and #StopAsianHat.
    • The impact of violence on BIPOC communities
    • Destigmatizing mental health amongst BIPOC communities
    • How breathwork changed her life and how she uses it as a tool to help her clients regulate their nervous system.
    • What trauma-informed practices look like for people of color when it comes to the workplace.
    • How external factors are noise, and finding peace start with creating a home within yourself.
