概要
Great Exchanges is a collaboration between Portobello Radio and Imperial College London, ahead of the Great Exhibition Road Festival on June 15 and 16. We bring together research scientists and members of the community with lived experience to discuss issues that make a difference to people's everyday lives. In this episode, Piers Thompson hosts a discussion with Elliott Latham from Imperial College and Nick from West Central London Fixers to explore repair cafe culture and the benefits it can bring. In the midst of an environmental and cost of living crisis, why do some people repair items while others throw them away? Wars are being fought over the rare earth metals that end up in landfill. How can we persuade people to join the revolution.
