Lance has spent years scratching out a living as a travelling snack salesman, carrying on the family tradition of selling the finest pork scratchings in the North. But behind his stoic demeanor lies a secret passion for musical theatre—a dream he's never had the courage to chase. When Lance strikes up a friendship with Gina, a no-nonsense Huddersfield landlady with a taste for bar snacks and a good pint, he sees a glimmer of something more. Hoping to get closer to her, Lance accompanies Gina to a local Slimming World meeting. There, a confrontation with a self-righteous instructor sets off a chain of events that changes both their lives forever.
