Matilde Roman is the Senior Vice President, Chief Inclusion and Impact Officer for Westchester Medical Center. In addition she is a lawyer and Adjunct Assistant Professor for Public Health at New York Medical College. With a deep-rooted passion for equity and a seasoned legal background, she leads Westchester Medical Center's efforts to integrate equity, inclusion and diversity into core values. At the forefront of developing innovative frameworks, her approach is instrumental in redefining industry best practices and enhancing operational effectiveness. Her team collaborates effectively to translate visionary strategies into actions, with a focus on creating a healthcare environment that respects and celebrates the rich tapestry of human diversity.

For over 15 years Sulma Arzu-Brown has been working professionally as a champion for Diversity and Inclusion; well before the term became a trending topic. Sulma is a proud Garifuna, Afro-Latina born in Honduras and raised in the South Bronx. She’s the award-winning author of children’s book "Bad Hair Does Not Exist/Pelo Malo No Existe", and "My Hair Comes With Me- Shifting the Paradigm of What Success Looks Like". She is a mentor for Scholastic series Rising Voices: Elevating Latino Stories along side Dr. Maria Armstrong and John Liguezamo. Her most recent history making endeavors include being the Co-founder and Executive Director of Storyland - The Bronx Book Haven.
